Editorial Policy
SC Calculator publishes free online finance calculators for workers, business owners, and everyday people. This editorial policy explains how we decide what to build, how we write content, how we check our work, and how we keep everything up to date.
What we publish
We only publish tools and pages in the finance category. Our 87 calculators cover pay and salary, business pricing and profit, personal finance and savings, debt and loans, investing, and related money topics. We do not publish news, opinion pieces, or sponsored articles. Everything on this site is an original calculator tool or an explanation of how that tool works.
How we write content
- Original writing. Every page is written by us from scratch. We do not copy or paraphrase content from other websites. If a well-known formula is used (such as time-and-a-half for overtime), we explain it in our own words and cite the source in plain language.
- Simple language. We write at a level most adults can follow without a finance background. If a financial term is needed, we explain it in the same sentence or the one after it.
- Formula transparency. Each tool uses a clear, checkable formula. Where possible, we show the formula on the page or explain it in the description so any user can verify the result themselves.
- No personal agenda. We do not promote specific financial products, brokers, funds, employers, or service providers. Our tools give neutral estimates based on the numbers you enter.
How we check accuracy
Before any tool goes live, we verify the formula against at least one widely accepted source — such as a government payroll guide, an international accounting standard, or a recognised financial textbook method. For pay tools we use standard compensation and payroll methods. For business tools we use standard accounting principles. For investing tools we use well-known financial formulas used internationally.
How we keep content up to date
Finance rules change. When a rate, threshold, formula, or guideline used in any of our tools is updated by an official body, we review the affected pages and apply the change. We also accept reader reports. If a result looks wrong to you, email us — we investigate every report and update the tool if we find an error.
- A government agency, accounting authority, or financial standards body changes a rate or rule that affects one of our tools.
- A reader reports a result that does not match their verified payslip, invoice, or financial record.
- We find a more accurate or complete formula during a scheduled review.
- A new tool is added and nearby tools need updated cross-links or descriptions.
Corrections
If we find or are told about a factual error, we correct it as quickly as possible. We do not hide corrections. If a formula change affects results significantly, we note it on the tool page. To report an error, email us at contact@calculatorsc.com.
Independence
SC Calculator is editorially independent. No advertiser, sponsor, or third party has any influence over which tools we build, how we write about them, or what results our calculators produce. Google Ads may appear on the site to help cover running costs, but ad revenue has no effect on our editorial choices. See our Privacy Policy for more on third-party services.
Terms of Service
By using calculatorsc.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms apply to all visitors worldwide.
What SC Calculator is
SC Calculator (calculatorsc.com) is a free online calculator website. All tools are for general information and calculation idea purposes only. We are not a financial advisor, accountant, lawyer, or licensed professional of any kind. Results from our tools are estimates, not advice. Do not use them as the sole basis for any financial, legal, or business decision.
Who can use this site
Anyone in the world can use SC Calculator for free. There is no age restriction, but the tools are designed for adults making general financial calculations. No account or registration is needed.
Allowed use
- Use any calculator for personal, educational, or business calculation purposes.
- Share links to any page on this site.
- Reference our tools in articles, teaching materials, or internal documents, provided you link back to the original page.
What you may not do
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute our calculator code, page content, or design without written permission.
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to collect data from this site.
- Attempt to access, modify, or disrupt any part of the site's code, servers, or data.
- Use this site in any way that could harm other users or violate any applicable law.
Intellectual property
All original content on calculatorsc.com — including the tool designs, written descriptions, and code — belongs to SC Calculator. The underlying mathematical formulas are in the public domain, but our specific implementations and written explanations are our own work.
Third-party links
Some pages may include links to external websites for reference. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
No warranties
SC Calculator is provided as-is, without any warranty. We aim for accuracy, but we cannot guarantee every result is correct in every jurisdiction or situation. Use results as a starting point, not a final answer. See our Disclaimer for full details.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, SC Calculator and its operators are not liable for any losses, damages, or costs that arise from your use of this site or reliance on its results. This includes direct, indirect, and consequential losses.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page. Continuing to use the site after any change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable laws. Because our site is used worldwide, we aim to meet standards that are fair and reasonable across jurisdictions. If you have a dispute, contact us first at contact@calculatorsc.com and we will try to resolve it.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you use calculatorsc.com, how it is used, and what rights you have. We try to collect as little as possible and be clear about what third-party services we use and why.
Information we do not collect
You do not need to create an account or give us your name, email, or phone number to use any calculator on this site. The numbers you type into any tool are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers.
Information collected automatically
When you visit any page on this site, basic technical information is collected automatically. This includes your IP address (which may indicate your general country or region), the type of browser and device you use, the pages you visit, and how long you spend on each page. This data is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it. It is processed by Google Analytics (see below).
Cookies
This site uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser. We use two types:
- Functional cookies. We store your chosen display settings (theme and accent colour) in your browser's local storage so the site looks the same on your next visit. This data stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
- Third-party cookies. Google Analytics and Google Ads may set cookies in your browser to measure traffic and to serve and measure ads. These are controlled by Google, not by us. See the Google sections below for details.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking third-party cookies will not stop you from using our calculators, but it may affect how ads are displayed.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this site — which pages are visited, how people arrive, and which tools are most used. Google Analytics collects anonymised usage data using cookies and similar tracking technology. The data is sent to Google's servers and processed under Google's privacy terms.
We have enabled IP anonymisation, which means the last part of your IP address is masked before it is stored. We do not use Google Analytics to identify individual users or to collect personal information. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google Ads
SC Calculator displays ads through Google Ads (Google AdSense) to help cover the cost of running the site. Google uses cookies and similar technology to show ads based on your browsing history and interests. This is called interest-based advertising or personalised advertising.
Google's advertising cookies may collect information such as pages visited on this site and other sites, your general location, and your device type. We do not share any personal data with Google beyond what is automatically collected through the AdSense code on our pages.
You can manage personalised ad settings or opt out of interest-based advertising at adssettings.google.com or through the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool. In the European Economic Area, you will see a consent prompt before personalised ads are shown.
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager to manage the analytics and advertising scripts on this site. Tag Manager itself does not collect personal data — it only controls which other scripts load on each page. All tracking is handled by the services those scripts belong to (Google Analytics, Google Ads).
GDPR – European Economic Area
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent local laws. These include:
- Right to access. You can ask us what personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect personal data directly, the only data we could provide would be anonymised analytics data — which cannot be linked back to you individually.
- Right to object. You can object to data processing based on our legitimate interests. For Google Analytics and Ads, use the opt-out tools linked above.
- Right to erasure. Because we do not store personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete. For Google's data, use Google's privacy tools.
- Consent for personalised ads. EEA visitors will see a cookie/ad consent prompt the first time they visit. You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies and revisiting the site.
Our legal basis for using Google Analytics is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it. Our legal basis for Google Ads is either your consent (for personalised ads in the EEA) or our legitimate interest in covering site running costs (for non-personalised ads).
US State Privacy Laws
Several US states have their own privacy laws that give residents specific rights. This section covers the most common ones.
California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). Because we do not sell personal data and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in the traditional sense, many CCPA obligations do not apply to us directly. However:
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Google Ads may be considered "sharing" data for cross-context behavioural advertising under CPRA. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com.
- You can request information about data collected about you by emailing contact@calculatorsc.com.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and other US states
Residents of Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), Texas (TDPSA), and other US states with privacy laws have similar rights: the right to know what data is collected, the right to opt out of targeted advertising, and the right to correct or delete personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@calculatorsc.com. For Google-specific data, use Google's privacy tools linked above.
Data retention
We do not store personal data on our servers. Google Analytics retains usage data for 14 months by default (we have set retention to the minimum available). Google Ads data is managed by Google under their own retention policies.
Children's privacy
Our site is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through this site, contact us and we will take steps to address it.
Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes to this privacy policy, we will update the review date at the top of this section. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Disclaimer
SC Calculator provides free online finance calculators for general information and calculation idea purposes only. By using any tool on this site, you agree to the terms set out below.
Not financial, legal, or professional advice
The results produced by any calculator on this site are estimates based on the numbers you enter. They are not financial advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or any other form of professional advice. SC Calculator is not a licensed financial advisor, accountant, lawyer, or any other regulated professional.
Accuracy and completeness
We make every reasonable effort to keep our tools accurate. However, financial rules, tax rates, pay regulations, and accounting standards vary by country, state, province, and local area. They also change over time. A result that is correct in one place or at one point in time may not be correct in another.
Our calculators use widely accepted general formulas. They cannot account for every local rule, individual tax situation, employer policy, currency fluctuation, or exception. The results are a useful starting point — not a final, guaranteed figure.
No warranty
SC Calculator is provided on an as-is basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, about the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any tool or result on this site. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SC Calculator and its operators accept no liability for any losses, costs, errors, or damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of this site or reliance on its results. This includes financial losses resulting from decisions made using our calculator outputs.
External links
Where we link to external websites for reference, we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of those sites. A link does not indicate endorsement.
Third-party services
This site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads. These services are governed by Google's own terms and privacy policies, not ours. SC Calculator is not responsible for how those services collect or use data. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you use the results from our calculators. We encourage you to treat any result as an estimate, cross-check important figures, and get professional advice before acting on any calculation that affects your finances, employment, or business.
Trust rules for this site
SC Calculator is built around a small number of promises we make to every visitor:
- Original content. Every page on this site is written by us. We do not copy text from other sites.
- No personal data required. You can use every tool without an account, email, or phone number.
- Your inputs stay in your browser. Numbers you type into any calculator are not sent to or stored on our servers.
- No data sales. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- Honest about limits. Our tools give estimates. We say that clearly here and on every tool page.
- Editorially independent. Advertisers have no influence over our tool designs, formulas, or written content.
